Conversations of Faith: A Gentle Invitation to Hope
Keven Griffin introduces Conversations of Faith — a conversational podcast that shares the Word of God with hope and encouragement, avoiding judgmental or entertainment-driven approaches. He invites listeners to step into their new identity given through Jesus Christ, and live the experiences of God's promises.
41:10 Ministries is rooted in Isaiah 41:10 and this first official episode of "Conversations of Faith" explains the show's heart: honest stories, scripture-based guidance, and an invitation to trust God (especially through struggles) so listeners can live out who they are in Jesus Christ.

00:00:00.328 --> 00:00:05.402
Hello, my name is Kevin Griffin, and you are listening to Conversations of Faith.
00:00:06.310 --> 00:00:11.317
Got a question for you. Have you ever thought to yourself, with all the churches,
00:00:11.697 --> 00:00:14.467
ministries, and Christian podcasts
00:00:14.467 --> 00:00:20.246
out there, why is there still such a misunderstanding of God and His Word?
00:00:21.099 --> 00:00:26.947
I mean, why is Christianity known more for being a religion of hate rather than
00:00:26.947 --> 00:00:30.095
the reflection of hope in this world.
00:00:31.254 --> 00:00:34.751
I believe the time is right for a different approach.
00:00:39.157 --> 00:00:39.741
Welcome to.
00:00:56.864 --> 00:01:02.129
Hey, again, thanks for joining us on this here episode, Conversations of Faith.
00:01:03.330 --> 00:01:11.028
You know, today on this episode, I wanted to share the thought and the heart behind this podcast.
00:01:12.491 --> 00:01:19.657
And it's really simple. It's simply a conversational podcast about God and His
00:01:19.657 --> 00:01:21.056
faithfulness to His Word.
00:01:21.927 --> 00:01:26.757
You know, as I pay attention to all the things that are out there,
00:01:27.343 --> 00:01:31.220
I recognize that there's many ministries,
00:01:31.841 --> 00:01:40.104
churches, Christian podcasts that can feel very dogmatic, judgmental, critical,
00:01:40.735 --> 00:01:42.076
and even self-righteous.
00:01:42.858 --> 00:01:49.995
And they often seem to be selling a version of Christianity that is so burdensome and not liberating.
00:01:51.062 --> 00:01:57.087
I hear a lot, and man, it's just hard. There's a lot of points of views that's
00:01:57.087 --> 00:02:02.371
shared that's oftentimes it takes the word of God out of context,
00:02:03.004 --> 00:02:06.731
to kind of push a point or an agenda.
00:02:07.625 --> 00:02:15.391
And what we wanted to do with this podcast is create a podcast that is simply conversation style.
00:02:16.155 --> 00:02:20.347
You know, I've got nothing to sell you, no debate to have with you to prove
00:02:20.347 --> 00:02:28.602
that you're wrong about everything nothing to convince you of or even to get you to stop doing,
00:02:29.350 --> 00:02:35.063
our only goal is to share the word of God in a way that brings hope and encouragement
00:02:35.417 --> 00:02:38.894
as you seek to live out your new identity in Christ.
00:02:40.297 --> 00:02:45.423
We wanted to create a place for those who really want to follow Jesus,
00:02:46.061 --> 00:02:53.805
but find it a struggle against the influences of this world and the opposing forces of Satan.
00:02:54.631 --> 00:02:58.598
And so we wanted to be a place where you can hear the word of God without all
00:02:58.598 --> 00:03:01.852
the preachy and dictating talk.
00:03:02.611 --> 00:03:05.008
Excuse me. The word itself is
00:03:05.008 --> 00:03:10.019
simple and powerful, and we don't want to do anything to get in its way.
00:03:10.741 --> 00:03:14.479
We believe a conversational style can meet people where they're at,
00:03:15.136 --> 00:03:19.828
especially those trying to figure out what it means to live a life according
00:03:19.828 --> 00:03:26.601
to faith in Jesus Christ and how to incorporate the word of God as a compass for daily living.
00:03:27.605 --> 00:03:33.328
What I've drawn upon is my own life and sharing faith for me has become more
00:03:33.328 --> 00:03:37.572
of a conversation than trying to prove a point or sell an idea.
00:03:38.184 --> 00:03:42.903
It's been about how God's promises in scripture have shown up in my own life,
00:03:43.569 --> 00:03:48.503
and how even through seasons of pain and uncertainty he has sustained me.
00:03:49.324 --> 00:03:54.786
You know, as I stated earlier, Conversations of Faith is simply a conversation,
00:03:55.274 --> 00:03:59.828
about God our Father and his faithfulness to his word.
00:04:00.654 --> 00:04:04.788
You know, as a final note here, I wanted to include a piece that was recorded
00:04:04.788 --> 00:04:07.637
before we came up with the name Conversations of Faith.
00:04:08.377 --> 00:04:14.478
The podcast used to be called 4110, which is actually the ministry now behind this show.
00:04:15.155 --> 00:04:21.371
So instead of re-recording it, I wanted to share it as it is because it's a message from my heart,
00:04:21.992 --> 00:04:30.497
about our ministry's desire to have impact and influence in the lives of others to the glory of God.
00:04:41.783 --> 00:04:46.538
Hey, this is Kevin, and I want to thank you for joining me on this episode of
00:04:46.538 --> 00:04:52.673
4110, a podcast dedicated to sharing hope and encouragement through the Word of God.
00:04:54.979 --> 00:05:00.469
I thought today I would start this episode with giving a little bit more context,
00:05:01.270 --> 00:05:03.733
as to the ministry of 4110.
00:05:05.282 --> 00:05:08.708
You know, it's been something in development that God placed in my heart.
00:05:08.708 --> 00:05:12.515
And I want to say at least six to seven years ago.
00:05:13.448 --> 00:05:16.770
So it's been in the making for that period of time.
00:05:17.130 --> 00:05:25.258
And first and foremost, 41.10 comes from the verse in the book of Isaiah 41.10,
00:05:25.931 --> 00:05:31.014
where it's God's message to the Israelites through the prophet Isaiah.
00:05:31.606 --> 00:05:34.479
And it says, Do not be afraid, for I am with you.
00:05:35.199 --> 00:05:38.862
Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you.
00:05:39.060 --> 00:05:43.082
I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
00:05:44.052 --> 00:05:48.319
And that happens to be one of my favorite verses in the Bible.
00:05:49.230 --> 00:05:54.541
I have a few, but that's one actually I have tattooed on my arm because of the
00:05:54.855 --> 00:05:56.190
significance of the meaning.
00:05:58.188 --> 00:06:05.768
The context of this verse is that the Israelites were in captivity in Babylon,
00:06:06.337 --> 00:06:12.028
and God had allowed it simply because of their ongoing disobedience and turning
00:06:12.028 --> 00:06:16.337
to other gods and refusing to repent.
00:06:16.918 --> 00:06:19.968
And so God allowed them to be taken into captivity and.
00:06:21.000 --> 00:06:26.852
For 70 years. But during that time, he sent the prophet Isaiah to give them
00:06:26.852 --> 00:06:32.230
this message to basically remind them that though they are in a place of captivity,
00:06:32.940 --> 00:06:34.698
God has not forgotten about them.
00:06:35.313 --> 00:06:42.100
God will come and he will rescue them. And so to have hope and be encouraged because God will come.
00:06:42.807 --> 00:06:47.823
And so I've taken that to heart in my life because There's been many seasons where,
00:06:48.410 --> 00:06:52.272
you know, I would say I was in captivity, maybe in bondage to sin,
00:06:52.272 --> 00:06:57.970
maybe going through some situations or circumstances that I did not want to be in.
00:06:58.515 --> 00:07:04.679
And it appeared that maybe God was absent, specifically, you know, from view, if you will.
00:07:05.444 --> 00:07:14.272
And so this particular verse, it reminded me and reminds us of God's love and
00:07:14.272 --> 00:07:17.339
care for those who are called according to his name.
00:07:18.164 --> 00:07:24.109
And so 4110 is set up to be that type of ministry,
00:07:24.835 --> 00:07:28.068
a ministry that reminds you of the promises of God,
00:07:28.660 --> 00:07:34.357
a ministry that supports and encourage you through seasons where it may seem
00:07:34.357 --> 00:07:39.777
that God is absent, maybe seasons of pain, maybe seasons of God holding on to
00:07:39.777 --> 00:07:42.401
a blessing that you feel is long overdue,
00:07:42.963 --> 00:07:47.187
you know, seasons of struggle with fear, insecurity, and doubt that kind of,
00:07:47.807 --> 00:07:51.059
attacks your faith and makes it tough for you to believe.
00:07:51.374 --> 00:07:55.177
You know, you may be struggling with the loss of a friend, the loss of life,
00:07:55.177 --> 00:08:02.017
the loss of just a job, things that are inherent to life that are not the things
00:08:02.017 --> 00:08:05.083
that we desire, but they are a part of life.
00:08:05.716 --> 00:08:13.858
And you may need that reminder that do not be afraid for God is with you. Do not be dismayed.
00:08:14.442 --> 00:08:19.257
And so those are words that have been a blessing to me during those seasons
00:08:19.257 --> 00:08:25.808
and from that same place is where the ministry 4110 comes from.
00:08:27.239 --> 00:08:35.111
In addition, one of the things that I have taken notice of over the years is the way that,
00:08:35.814 --> 00:08:42.207
ministry, and I'll say contemporary Christian churches or services,
00:08:42.329 --> 00:08:48.749
and it's not to be disparaging, but I have just noticed the trend that's moving towards entertainment,
00:08:49.597 --> 00:08:53.098
versus lending itself towards spiritual maturity.
00:08:53.998 --> 00:09:00.452
And we are called by the word of God into spiritual maturity. And so.
00:09:02.881 --> 00:09:08.931
When there are institutions, when there are church options available that lend
00:09:08.931 --> 00:09:11.481
itself more towards entertaining,
00:09:12.347 --> 00:09:18.791
and not towards shepherding to where there's growth in an individual who is
00:09:18.791 --> 00:09:23.548
investing time to participate, to attend these services.
00:09:24.331 --> 00:09:29.225
It's really limiting the way that people can experience,
00:09:29.857 --> 00:09:34.304
the evidence of God working in their life so that their faith is strengthened,
00:09:34.896 --> 00:09:40.381
and that the things that they view happening in this world, they begin to lose
00:09:40.701 --> 00:09:44.869
their edge in terms of the dynamic or how severe,
00:09:45.515 --> 00:09:50.661
because we're reminded in our maturity that God is sovereign and in control
00:09:50.661 --> 00:09:52.213
and there's nothing that he can't do.
00:09:53.232 --> 00:10:01.544
And so as the popularity of entertaining places of worship continues to spread,
00:10:02.272 --> 00:10:11.149
I felt in my heart to really be a place where the Word of God is the only thing that's being spoken,
00:10:12.043 --> 00:10:19.168
and spoken in a way to where it's not about how I can preach or wow you or dazzle
00:10:19.168 --> 00:10:22.615
you with how much I know, because that makes no difference.
00:10:23.306 --> 00:10:28.618
It's so that the word of God lands in your heart and begins to give a fresh
00:10:28.618 --> 00:10:34.258
way of looking at God, looking at the value of what's been given to you through
00:10:34.258 --> 00:10:36.897
the blood of Jesus Christ, a new identity,
00:10:37.550 --> 00:10:43.148
so that you can begin to operate and function from the privileged position that
00:10:43.148 --> 00:10:46.466
has been given to us through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
00:10:47.430 --> 00:10:54.676
And so this is not a ministry of just random, you know, teachings,
00:10:55.001 --> 00:10:58.809
random thoughts or opinions or views that I hold.
00:10:59.419 --> 00:11:04.758
It's literally taking you through the word of God and helping you to see for
00:11:04.758 --> 00:11:09.228
yourself what God says about who he is,
00:11:09.864 --> 00:11:15.647
about who you are because of the blood of Jesus Christ and what that means for your life.
00:11:16.503 --> 00:11:20.764
And my hope and desire is that this is just a place where you can comfortably come.
00:11:21.727 --> 00:11:27.478
And look to hear a word that not only encourages you, but inspires you into
00:11:27.478 --> 00:11:33.929
action, into taking faith steps into the things that God says,
00:11:34.586 --> 00:11:39.692
so that you can begin experiencing the fullness of God in your life,
00:11:40.307 --> 00:11:45.062
the fullness of His presence, the fullness of His Spirit,
00:11:45.815 --> 00:11:48.578
so that as you're sharing with
00:11:48.578 --> 00:11:54.272
others, you're not sharing simply something that you heard in a sermon.
00:11:54.899 --> 00:11:58.922
You're not sharing something that you simply heard from someone else.
00:11:59.421 --> 00:12:05.508
You're sharing experiences and encounters that you are personally having because
00:12:05.508 --> 00:12:10.097
you are stepping out in faith into the very promises of God.
00:12:10.720 --> 00:12:12.903
You're believing in the one who says it.
00:12:13.542 --> 00:12:15.608
And then by faith, you're stepping into it.
00:12:16.479 --> 00:12:22.118
And God's faithfulness will be the experiences and the encounters that makes
00:12:22.118 --> 00:12:24.803
himself known and real to you in your life.
00:12:25.396 --> 00:12:31.510
So as you're sharing God, you're sharing a tangible living God that is alive,
00:12:32.137 --> 00:12:37.138
that is well, and that is working in and through his people to make himself
00:12:37.138 --> 00:12:42.656
known that he is glorified through us, his children, for the world to see.
00:12:43.372 --> 00:12:49.566
And so 4110 is simply that place, a place of hope and encouragement,
00:12:50.400 --> 00:12:55.386
a place where you can begin moving towards spiritual maturity,
00:12:56.090 --> 00:13:01.675
not because of what I say, but because of the word of God that will be spoken.
00:13:02.563 --> 00:13:07.198
And I'll do my best to break things down. I'm not a scholar.
00:13:07.198 --> 00:13:11.812
I'm not a pastor. I'm not anything other than a child of the living God.
00:13:12.688 --> 00:13:16.165
And I have committed myself to learning the word of God,
00:13:17.114 --> 00:13:21.730
exploring the word of God. So I have a clear understanding of who my father
00:13:21.730 --> 00:13:25.711
is and who I am in him through the blood of Jesus Christ.
00:13:26.402 --> 00:13:31.905
And I seek diligently how to live the truth of God's word
00:13:32.271 --> 00:13:37.440
so that I can have the experiences and the encounters that make him real and
00:13:37.440 --> 00:13:42.420
that it strengthens my faith and giving me perspective now that's not a part
00:13:42.420 --> 00:13:44.855
of the way the world sees things
00:13:45.244 --> 00:13:46.840
or from the lens of the world,
00:13:47.252 --> 00:13:49.795
but from the lens of the kingdom of God.
00:13:50.761 --> 00:13:55.394
And so that helps me when I deal with unfavorable circumstances.
00:13:56.026 --> 00:14:00.769
It helps me when I deal with challenges that seem insurmountable to me.
00:14:01.384 --> 00:14:05.070
It helps me when I deal with fear, uncertainty, and doubt.
00:14:05.645 --> 00:14:10.701
And I call it the help that it gives me is it gets me back to truth quickly.
00:14:11.358 --> 00:14:15.741
I may have moments where I have an emotional charge that wants to take over,
00:14:16.292 --> 00:14:21.255
and really crowd out and force out the truth that I hold in my heart.
00:14:22.035 --> 00:14:25.512
And I know that's the process, that is the dynamic of this fallen world,
00:14:25.512 --> 00:14:31.492
and that is the strategy of Satan, to remove the word from our hearts so that
00:14:31.492 --> 00:14:34.905
we feel helpless and that we turn to our own devices.
00:14:35.509 --> 00:14:40.960
And so the word of God has become an anchor for me, and it's my home base of truth.
00:14:41.596 --> 00:14:48.585
And though I may have an emotional charge, by God's grace, he allows me to get back to what's true.
00:14:49.286 --> 00:14:55.292
And then I get to respond not from the emotion, but from what God's word says
00:14:55.292 --> 00:14:59.371
is true, either about him or the circumstance that I'm in.
00:14:59.970 --> 00:15:03.464
And more importantly, the reminder of his faithfulness,
00:15:03.946 --> 00:15:09.212
for those of us who choose to put our faith in him and to cry out to him for
00:15:09.212 --> 00:15:14.720
the help that we need, for the perspective that we need in the things of life
00:15:15.028 --> 00:15:17.820
that we encounter that are just inevitable,
00:15:18.459 --> 00:15:20.472
that we may be a witness.
00:15:21.297 --> 00:15:25.518
That we may be a light in the darkness for others to see.
00:15:26.594 --> 00:15:35.461
We are in a season where the word of God is getting mangled and trampled under
00:15:35.461 --> 00:15:39.330
the feet of those who don't know the living God.
00:15:39.957 --> 00:15:43.940
And they're trying to dictate what it means to be a Christian.
00:15:44.535 --> 00:15:49.658
They're trying to dictate what it looks like, saying that we don't have a heart,
00:15:50.240 --> 00:15:56.031
that we're judgmental, that we're criticizing, that we don't have empathy or
00:15:56.031 --> 00:15:59.032
compassion, that we're self-righteous.
00:15:59.520 --> 00:16:02.765
Well, that's not Christianity at all.
00:16:03.397 --> 00:16:08.361
That's a version of Christianity that is not rooted in the truth of who God
00:16:08.361 --> 00:16:12.937
is and what He says He has done to redeem,
00:16:13.657 --> 00:16:21.558
to reconcile, and to restore His people back into right relationship with Him
00:16:21.928 --> 00:16:23.951
so that we can live as sons and daughters.
00:16:23.951 --> 00:16:31.598
And so as we press into the truth of God's Word, we find it coming alive in us.
00:16:32.281 --> 00:16:33.491
It's no longer something where
00:16:33.491 --> 00:16:37.883
we have to be remembering or memorizing scriptures to quote to someone.
00:16:38.672 --> 00:16:44.911
That's important, but not as important as someone seeing you live out the very
00:16:44.911 --> 00:16:51.091
truth that you profess, especially when it's hard and there are other options
00:16:51.091 --> 00:16:52.581
that are presented by the world.
00:16:53.660 --> 00:16:58.692
It's then and in those moments where we are demonstrating and reflecting the
00:16:58.692 --> 00:17:00.690
hope that we have in Jesus Christ.
00:17:01.312 --> 00:17:03.002
And it's in those moments, just
00:17:03.002 --> 00:17:08.674
as Christ did, that we're glorifying the Father apart from this world.
00:17:09.297 --> 00:17:13.544
And so if that's a place that you'd like to hang out,
00:17:14.255 --> 00:17:19.350
if that's an environment you'd like to be in, then welcome to 4110,
00:17:19.985 --> 00:17:27.042
because our hope and our prayer is not to make this about us and what we're
00:17:27.042 --> 00:17:29.796
doing and how great we are as a ministry.
00:17:31.317 --> 00:17:32.426
But to make it about you.
00:17:33.935 --> 00:17:38.732
How you learn about who you are because of our gracious, merciful,
00:17:38.732 --> 00:17:46.764
loving God who sent his son to die that we may be redeemed out of the fallen nature of this world,
00:17:47.763 --> 00:17:50.978
and that we would be restored into our rightful place,
00:17:52.157 --> 00:17:56.366
as children of God in divine relationship with the creator of heaven and earth,
00:17:57.161 --> 00:17:58.589
for both now and eternity.
00:17:59.622 --> 00:18:06.112
So I thank you for taking the time to tune in and I pray that this message hits
00:18:06.112 --> 00:18:07.778
your heart in a special way,
00:18:08.777 --> 00:18:11.272
and that today that you have hope in
00:18:11.272 --> 00:18:15.777
your current struggle and that you're encouraged that it is not the end.
00:18:17.263 --> 00:18:23.870
We are here with you and for you because of the spirit of the living God who is with us and for us.
00:18:24.640 --> 00:18:31.299
Be blessed and I look forward to you joining us on the journey of 4110. God bless.
